According to Pick Monitor members, Houston is the play tonight. Sometimes that is a bad thing.
It appears as though the oddsmakers are baffled with a pick'em line and no ML available.
The total is 40.5, and even though it is a pertinent indicator in many cases to assist in determining an outcome, I am not sure how valid this number really is in this case due to the information I relayed in the opening paragraph.
Assuming the oddsmakers are on target with the provided total points number, and the game is truly a pick'em coin flip, then it would be logical to believe a final score of 20-19, 21-20, or any result remotely close is well within the realm of possibility IMO.
My personal belief is that defense will be the deciding factor. Whether Garrapolo or the 3rd string QB starts this game, I give the Texans Defense an edge over the Patriots offense more so than New England's defense versus Houston's offense. However, this edge is extremely slight considering all active QB's in this contest are limited in there pro game experience.
In many cases, going against the public's choice is the right move. I believe when you add in the appearance the oddsmakers really don't know where to set the line, then following the majority is the correct decision.
Take the Houston Texans pick'em -110
Have a great day everyone!
