Arizona Cardinals Vs New York Jets 12-2-2012 0 views

This is an absolutely sick game to be placing a wager on considering these two teams would be considered well below stellar.

With that being said, I would refer everyone to one important piece of information: The Arizona Cardinals are built to contend in close ball games versus AFC Eastern teams in 2012. They lost in Buffalo (19 - 16), defeated the Dolphins (24 - 21) in Arizona and Patriots (20 - 18) in New England.

If you look at the NYJs this season, they simply do not bounce back after being embarrassed the week prior. After losing to the 49ers (34 - 0) they rebounded with another loss to the Texans (23 - 17). They were also defeated by the Dolphins (30 - 9) and then cast aside by the Seahawks (28 - 7) a week later. They are now coming off a disastrous performance against their divisional rival New England Patriots (49 - 19).

The NYJs are sporting the 26th ranked defense in points allowed (26.4 PPG) and will be fielding the 22nd ranked offense (20.1 PPG). The only strong point for the NYJs is their ability to defend against the pass and are ranked 7th in the NFL (211.3 YPG).

Arizona is no juggernaut either bringing their 31st ranked offense (16.4 PPG) to Met Life Stadium. They have the 11th ranked defense regarding points allowed (20.6 PPG) that includes a strong ability to stifle an opponent's air attack, good enough for 4th in the league (203.7 YPG).

The weather forecast is only advising of a 28% chance of precipitation and the temperatures are not expected to be extreme (54 F & 13 C) therefore I do not expect it will have a significant impact on the outcome of this game.

Scoring should be at a premium when these two battle it out in the "Who Cares Bowl" in East Rutherford, NJ this upcoming Sunday. Both teams will more than likely rely heavily on run oriented offensive game plans, and due to the almost mirror image offensive and defensive statistics available, this should end up being a close game.

Take the Arizona Cardinals and the points.

Great post, but we disagree on this one. 6 of the NYJ's 7 losses were against very respectable opponents in Pitt (with Big Ben), NE (twice), San Fran, Houston and Seattle. Now, playing at home with Rex Ryan's job on the line there will be no conservative approach to their playbook. I'd actually look at Sanchez for fantasy sleeper QB of the week here considering Arizona's weak defensive play over their 7 game losing streak. Couple that with a starter at QB for AZ in Lindley in a hostile environment playing with a center taking snaps for the first time all year and you have disaster in the making. NYJ will load the box and force Lindley to beat them, which we can't see happening. Turnovers will be the difference in this one, most likely once again the result of inexperience at the QB coupled with a new face over the ball. If there's a prop bet for bad snaps take the over 2.5 and a NYJ cover as Sanchez survives the "Tebow" chants for another week. Good luck.

Yea, I have to go Jets here as well. For starters, Jets at home. Second, horrible Cards offense. I think Jets will get on track this game and handle them rather easily.
Nice call on the game. This has been one of my worst weeks in NFL. I guess that is what happens when you THINK you know the game.

Thank you madh4ttr, I appreciate your kind words... although, this game really was on the bubble until the final moments and could have gone either way. The UNDER was the stronger play I suppose :)

Have a great day.
