Houston Texans Vs Jacksonville Jaguars 12-5-2013 0 views

I am 8 - 8 thus far in the NFL. I am not impressed nor should you be LOL

After reviewing this Thursday night game between two lackluster teams I arrived at the decision to take the visiting Texans to win and cover the 3 points over the Jaguars.

Why would I bother wasting my time on a game like this? More so because I am forced to in the NFL pools I am involved with, but also because this line intrigues me. It is my belief that there is no way Houston should be favored with a 2 - 10 record, especially on the road against a team that has been improving over the past few weeks and keeping games close.

With that being stated. My selection is based upon the oddsmakers opening this line at -3 then moved downward to -2 before creeping back up and currently sitting at -3.5... I am going with the oddsmakers here because they clearly know something I do not, and therefore instead of challenging them in this case, I will simply ride along with them.

Neither of these teams are all that impressive but that being said Houston is better than JAX my numbers say Houston wins 25-13 fwiw

I'm with you Timothy, games like this are almost a coin flip. Texans seem to have better talent, but are on a 10 game losing streak. Meanwhile, Jacksonville has won 3 of their last 4 and have shown vast improvement since the beginning of the season. The team that's hot, with a better record, @ home +3??????? What are we missing? Well surprisingly Jacksonville plays better on the road then they do @ home, so there is not much of a home field advantage, if anything possibly a disadvantage! Something has to give tonight. The Texans snap a 10 gamer or the Jags turn it around at home. I'll take the latter of the 2.

Jags 20

Texans 17

Getting nervous. Some pretty big money coming in on the Texans. I have a tough time trying to figure out Houston's motivation meanwhile Jax is playing like a bunch of college kids having fun. I'm sticking with the momentum play on Jax but this money has me scratching my head.
Jax has stopped the run of late. That leaves Keenum to beat you? Really? Their offense clicked against NE because they could run the ball and Keenam could play action off that. Not so sure they'll be able to do that tonight. Also, I agree with you JC. Where's Houston's motivation? They laid it on the line against NE at home and came up empty. Talent wise their better, but they've had better talent against most teams this year and it's gotten them nowhere. On the flip side, Henne played quite well against Hou. the first time and that vaunted Houston D has been pedestrian to downright bad of late. I'll place a small wager on Jax because the line has me freaked out! GL to all!
Houston has some talented players, but they are also overated in that department. Wade Smith has struggled and not played like before. Brown has not been as good. No Foster, Cushing, and Daniels. This team doesn't have depth. The right side of the offensive line has struggled, and Derek Newton may be the worst starting RT in football. They are weak at safety with loss of Glover Quin, 3rd CB McCain has sucked. What Houston has over Jacksonville is more solid star NFL players. Still have Watt and Johnson. Houston has not lost games by much, all very close, its coaching adjustments that have beat this football team and inexperienced QB who is learning. Tate looked really good against NE and he has been playing injured, he is actually more healthy. If Houston effort is there like NE, they will snap the losing streak. Keep in mind, some players on that team are playing for jobs like Keenum. Tate playing for contract. Coaching staff has to perform including Wade Phillips.
haha, everybody still thinks Houston is a good team. I wouldn't have put any money on that game.
