Do Cappers Still Use This Website 797 views

It's been a while since I've been on here...way back in the Patrick days...don't see none of the OGs logged in...is this still a reputable website to track plays

1

They need to grade the picks quicker. No reason why it should take 3-5 days to grade college Bball or NHL games.

3

i remember members would grade games and had to add the source you got the score from...we would earn points for doing it...if you got too many games wrong you couldnt grade games no more...worked great

It breaks my heart that this website doesn't get that much traffic. This platform is far superior to many others that I have used in the past. Sometimes I wonder if the average bettor is overwhelmed by all of the math behind our success or lack thereof. It might be more use to the Capper than the bettor.

3

I think the average bettor is more overwhelmed by the lack of success. Everyone likes to claim they are winning big. The platform here is far superior to other sites, it's what everyone wants till they get it. The grading was automated and instant before with just about everything. I know they lost pinnacle, which means a lot of code needs to be written to redo it all. My guess is they are waiting for a permanent home for their odds before getting it all automated again.

just asking who's they...and do you think it would make a difference if we would be paying to track our picks

1

A business should prove it works and is efficient before people pay for it. Not the other way around. Capitalism 101

2

I was talking about the average bettor. The average bettor likes to believe they winning, I don't think most stick around if they have a losing record. I think the business model is correct for free tracking and charging to sell picks. If a capper is really winning, then it's a pretty small business cost for a third party tracker, smaller than most businesses pay for utilities. The truth is that not many are winning, and even less than that are winning enough to justify paying for their service.

i just don't see any promotion for this website anywhere...like how do you have a site like this and noone sees or talk about it in the betting world

1

I agree that sites like this will make the average bettor realize that they are losing long-term gamblers making -EV bets. Still though, I think it’s useful for winning handicappers to prove results over a large sample size. eople will come to follow winning handicappers. I would happily invest here if picks were graded in a timely manner. It’s really a great site but it needs TLC. There seems to be no interest from whomever owns it and it’s a shame.

2

We don't even have simple things like profile pics anymore. New owner is treating this site like a loss on his taxes. Now go ahead and censor this post like anyone even cares.

I don’t get why he doesn’t let us grade or hire some people to do it if it can’t be automatic. That’s oddly narcissistic.

Let's say there was 2 websites. Site #1 says here's the 5 things to do to win the lottery. Site #2 says don't play the lottery because the odds are a quintillion to 1. Site #2 is being honest but site #1 will get more views and sign ups. PM is like site #2, but truth and honesty is hard to sell. "Its what everyone wants till they get it, to quote Renochazz. IG and T and FB are all like site #1 selling tickets to fantasy land.

But there are a few good handicappers on here and PM should focus more on highlight those guys. Why try selling subscriptions to 100's of picks when 99% of them are worthless. Proven by the stats offered on PM! I mean think about it. PM is basically saying hey everyone in the betting world check this out, we got stats to prove 99% of bettors suck so come buy a subscription to get all these crappy picks! Sign up today! Lol why would anyone sign up for that. Who wants to look thru 100's of lousy picks in hopes of maybe finding a good one. Just sell me the good one and you can keep all the lousy ones. How about instead say hey betting world we got 3 guys (or 5 or whatever number) that can make you money against the sportsbook and we got the stats to prove it, so come buy a subscription and start winning money. I'm not a marketing guy but doesn't that sound a lot better.

I'm with you, Coolbreeez. Unfort, the site is owned and operated by marketers, not handicappers. The people with actual talent fly under the radar and eventually leave.

That said, the interface here (designed by Patrick way back when) is still the best by far.

The site is still owned by Patrick...which is why nothing has changed...the sale of the site was a cover to save his name and move on to different linux ventures

Is the grading done automatically or manually ? I can understand that some of the obscure sports might need to be done manually but the big 4 American sports should be automatic I would think.

1

It is supposed to grade automatically, but seems especially with the change from Pinnacle, issues with the mapping of automatic grading. Then it has to be graded manually. Which starts to accumulate and get overwhelming. Especially to much is offered for sports that aren't really followed. Like Russian hockey 1st period play, is that really needed here? The more obscure stuff have, the more it will be. Sports like Golf and Tennis need alot of manual grading. If not done right away it accumulates over time, and then got to go back and research it. Golf round play, how many cappers are using it? Why NHL and college sports are having a delay, not sure why that is.......lots of great stuff here, but not sure what can be done unless a dedicated person who has the time to stay on top of all the manual grading that needs to be done.

2

So who is grading them? Why not just let us do the grading? You get demerits if you grade a game wrong, and 3 strikes you're out rule. Make it so!
