Every serious sports bettor knows of this contest. It is to sport's betting what the world series of poker main event is to poker. The entry is fee $1500, bettors pick 5 games against the spread every week, with top winners cashing in it's conclusion. Last years 1st place winner won the grand prize of 1.3 million dollars.
I'm not in the contest, as it's a little bit out of my league, but I thought it would be cool if posters here that are in the contest would post their usernames updating their records so we could cheer on our fellow pick monitor handicappers. So if anyone is in please post up! Anyone that wants to contribute any news or questions is also welcome to share in this thread.
I live in Reno and listen to one of the westgate shows on the radio while I commute. They often like to call out William Hill for banning winning players and claim they don't. This gives me hope as betting sports grows in the US now that it's been decriminalized federally and states can now legalize it.
Last December I made the 7 hour drive to Vegas and made an account with their app, I'm able to use in Reno, and love it. I'm mainly a hockey bettor and they have dime lines on hockey.
The news I heard today on their show is that by next season the super contest is going mobile. Which is great because now it will be an option for me without a proxy living in Reno. The other good news is that since it's going mobile it opens the door for people in other states to one day join in on the contest without a proxy, which means the grand prize is going to be a lot bigger in years to come.
So let's see it... who's in it this year? And any other thoughts on this contest? Any stories from past winners here?
